From a simple observation to The Love Empire.
How it all started…
„So much love, energy and imagination goes into a wedding. Then on the big day itself, you experience a whirlwind of emotions. Yet it all goes by so fast. Too fast! Even if fantastic pictures were taken, I always yearned for just a little more time with the bride to give her the visual attention she truly deserved. This is how The Love Empire was born!
So why not grasp this amazing opportunity to celebrate yourself, your dress and this unique moment, without creative limits. Whether it’s two days, two weeks, or even two months before the wedding, you deserve it.”

IT’S GOING TO BE EPIC AND NOTHING LESS.
– Zuzu Birkhof
Hi, I am Zuzu.
As a professional photographer for over 13 years, specializing in wedding photography for about 5 years and now founder of The Love Empire, my credo has always been to combine technical knowhow, creative artistry and organizational structure in all of my productions.
After graduating with a diploma in fine art photography in 2007, I was given the opportunity to start an assistance year for star photographer Olaf Heine right away.
Throughout the years I have been able to expand my skill set as a photographer and in-house producer for high-end fashion magazines like GQ, Marie Claire, Glamour, Cosmopolitan and Vogue working for major brands such as Adidas, Reebok, VW, Seat, to name just a few.
In 2015 I found my passion for wedding photography and since then shot over 75 Weddings, Pre-Weddings, Engagement Shoots, Bridal Editorials and Look-Books for Bridal Collections.
Meet the Love Empire team.
Prior to the shoot I select a team depending on the scale of the production. It can range from a small, flexible unit, consisting of one assistant and one hair & make-up artist to a full-scale production with lighting crew, assistants, stylist, other artists and creatives etc. Bottom line: The whole range of services are considered, but nothing is offered that might be superfluous.
On set or location, me and my team, consisting of one or two assistants and carefully selected artists like set designers, florists, stylists, hair & make up artist plus catering service, are responsible for a seamless workflow throughout the entire shooting day. One could even go so far and say: It takes a village to produce a perfect visual experience.
After the shoot I sight and select the pictures, which then go into retouch. During this process – considered by many as an art in itself – I collaborate with an excellent team of carefully selected retouchers. In addition, we offer big picture prints, printed on special, high-quality Fine Art Paper, that last for over 100 years.
